There are organic and natural mattresses all over the marketplace but many of them are extremely expensive. Most of the low cost ones are cheaply made and probably won't provide the feel that your back deserves. The Gold Coast is an exception to these norms because it's quite the quality pocketed coil mattress but it also lands in only the mid-high price range. In fact, it's low on the relative price scale - for a bed that can be accurately described as 'luxury'. 

There is NO FOAM in this mattress. This is obviously a plus for those who are allergic to foam (which, we've learned, is a lot more people than we'd previously thought) but it's also all-around a great feeling bed. I've tried a few foamless beds in my lifetime and they've got a uniquely great feel! 

Having an Active Edge Quantum Coil system means that the coils go all the way to the edge; you truly get the entire mattress as your sleeping surface. The feel isn't in the 'brick' range but it's definitely on the firmer side. We have it right around an '8' out of '10' but if you sleep on your side, thanks to the pocket coils, you will get a bit more 'give' on your hip bone - a huge positive for those of us who can wake with hips being slightly out of joint due to constant tension while sleeping.

This mattress will also sleep quite cool due to its coil-to-the-edge construction and lack of foam, in general.
