Support Therapy 10 - A Comfortable Latex Alternative
Support Therapy 10 - A Comfortable Latex Alternative Unfortunately, when you've been around mattresses as long as I have, you see a lot of the same stuff. Most models only have slight differences in foam layers and things like that. That is why I felt a high level of excitement come over me when I tried out the "Support Therapy 10" by Symbol Mattress!
The Support Therapy 10 contains the trademarked and relatively new Avena™ Foam, which has a very different feel from anything that I've experienced. It is similar to the feel of latex but, it's simply more comfortable. Somewhere in between the feels of a high quality gel-infused memory foam and latex foam is Avena™. Considered an "alternative to latex", I consider it an improvement to latex.
In blind tests - no matter the previous preferences of the individuals - shoppers tend to prefer the feel of memory foam over the feel of latex foam. However, some really insist on purchasing latex because it's more durable and cooler than traditional memory foam. Well, Avena™ has even more durability than memory both memory foam and latex and, it's cooler than memory foam and as cool, or cooler than latex. It's truly a breakthrough in sleep product industry.
The Support Therapy 10 doesn't 'sink' quite like a memory foam. It has a fast response (bounce-back) quality that's a little less than the 'immediate' response of latex. (this is due to the Avena™ foam layer at its top). The layer just beneath is visco-elastic memory foam; this layer provides to you a body-contouring, supportive feel. Additionally - before the high density support core - is a 1 1/2" Support Layer. This buildup of layers seems to be ideal for both durability and comfort.
Many people have allergies to latex but would like to enjoy a mattress with its benefits. Well, this mattress is made from 100% recyclable materials, all of its foams are CertiPUR-US certified, it sleeps cool, it is hypo-allergenic, it's even more durable than a latex mattress, it's more affordable than latex and cheaper than comparable memory foam options, it has less compression over time and, it's made in the USA! From what I've seen and tried, that makes the Support Therapy more than an alternative; it's an improvement!
I recommend this mattress to anyone looking for a cooler, firm and long-lasting bed. It also works great with adjustable bed bases. Its value is unparalled so, if you like firmness and lasting support but like a faster response in foam than you can get from a memory foam mattress, this one is for you!

Measure all 4 sides of your mattress and bed frame before ordering.
We recommend you order the mattress 1 inch smaller than the space it is meant to fill.
This will leave extra room for sheets, blankets, and variations in production size. Some people like a larger gap to really have room for your hands to reach down and change sheets easily.
Please note that production size is not guaranteed to be exact.
Common Questions About Ordering Custom Size Mattresses
What if it doesn't fit?
We will never ship out a custom mattress or boxspring that exceeds the size you have ordered without contacting you first to check if the size variance will cause an issue.
Since these are custom made for you, they can not be returned, so please be careful when taking measurements. On some bed sets, the box spring will be a different
size than the mattress so you will need to measure both pieces. Also, since beds are often set up not perfectly square, you will need to measure all four sides of the bed
to find the correct size. Be sure to check in the corners for boards or bolts that often protrude in to the mattress area, and order your custom mattress and custom boxspring small enough to fit inside of these protrusions.
What sizes are available?
Any custom size is available upon request but with most models you are limited to being smaller than a King mattress.

Can I really order any size and shape?
Yes, we are able to make some of our models in odd shapes (like cut or rounded corners) for antique beds, RVs, and even boats; however most of them can only be done in a 4-sided rectangle.

What about the boxspring ?
It is very important to measure the size of your box separate from your mattress because in many older bed sets, the box was made slightly smaller than the mattress.
The length and width of a solid foundation boxspring can be custom made to fit exact dimensions.
The thickness can not be customized but boxes are available in several standard thicknesses ranging from 2-9 inches.
How soon will my custom size mattress arrive?
Once your order is paid for, a specialist from Michigan Discount Mattress will call you on the phone to verify your sizes and delivery information.
Production will then begin and usually takes 1-3 weeks. After production, the custom mattress will be packaged at the warehouse to protect it during shipping to your home.
Shipping takes 2-10 days depending on the destination city. The combination of producing, packing, and delivering means that you should receive your custom mattress within 2-6 weeks of the day you order.
